  8. HandOff Corporation Ships TrashMaster(tm) with Incinerator(tm)

  10.     Allen, Texas, January 1, 1992 — The HandOff Corporation 
  11. today has begun shipping TrashMaster with Incinerator, a utility 
  12. designed to automatically free precious disk space and protect 
  13. confidential data.  TrashMaster provides automatic emptying of 
  14. trash at scheduled intervals or system events.  Incinerator 
  15. automatically erases confidential files per United States Department 
  16. of Defense specification to prevent unauthorized recovery.

  18.     Automatic operation can be defined at regular intervals such 
  19. as hourly or daily.  TrashMaster can also be set to empty trash on 
  20. system events, including shutdown or disk eject.  The user defines 
  21. "filters" that activate at these set times and empty all files that 
  22. match the filter's criteria for file size, modification date, type, creator 
  23. and name.

  25.     In addition to automatic operation, TrashMaster provides a 
  26. convenient hierarchical menu of the trash, grouped by drive if 
  27. more than one drive is mounted.  The user can select a drive, a 
  28. folder or a single file to empty compared to the standard choice of 
  29. all or nothing.

  31.     Incinerator is especially secure because it automatically erases 
  32. files whenever the trash is emptied, eliminating the possibility of 
  33. accidentally deleting a file without erasing it.

  35.     TrashMaster retails for $69.95 and is available immediately.  
  36. Customers can order direct or take advantage of a special 
  37. competitive upgrade for only $39.95.  A demo version has been 
  38. uploaded to Compuserve, America Online and AppleLink.  Dealers 
  39. will begin receiving stock early next week.
